Meet Lisa:

Lisa is a second career clinical mental health counseling intern at Ministry Village. After 30 years in communications and fitness programming, Lisa returned to graduate school to fulfill her vision of wellness through the integration of mind and body within a client’s family and community systems. She selected the Liberty University CMHC program for its commitment to, and respect of, clients’ diverse understanding or desire for spiritual or religious integration into their sessions. Lisa is pursuing specialized training in EMDR, trauma and grief within an acceptance and commitment therapeutic model. She works collaboratively with clients as they process life experiences toward a more enriching, value-identified life.

What Inspires Lisa:
“The most rewarding part of being a part of the Ministry Village is experiencing a community in which faith is foundational, and respect for diversity of experiences is a core value. The team commitment to client-centered care and evidence-based interventions supports the mission of caring for community well and with intent.”

Beyond textbooks and working with clients under supervision, Lisa enjoys trail running, triathlon training, and teaching group and private Pilates classes. Lisa is married with two adult children, is an avid nature and animal lover and enjoys spending time with her husband of 9 years.
